Recently you might have seen ads by Aircel on "Save The Tiger" project. It took almost 39,000 tigers to loose their lives before Man felt the loss and decided to do something about it. Irony is that Tiger is our National Animal which is on the verge of extinction.
Very recently I visited a zoo in Pune and a section of the zoo caught my attention. I saw some graves and a sighting of a grave in a place like the zoo was something weird. I moved closer to it to find three graves. On the first grave there was a placard with a picture of a DODO bird with these words - Extinct in 1681. The second grave had a placard with a picture of the Indian leopard and the words - Extinct in 1952. I was taken aback with the fact that in my life time I had never seen an Indian leopard as it was extinct way before I was born. The third one was an empty grave. The grave was dug and the most capturing site was that of a female cleaner sweeping the fallen leaves and keeping the grave ready. The placard displayed a picture and the words - RESERVED FOR INDIAN TIGER. It left me shaking to the core. The fact was so scary.
With just 1411 tigers left I am not sure if my children would ever get to see the tiger when they are born as I never saw the Indian leopard. And this fear is not very far from becoming a fact as we lost 66 tigers in 6 months time. Very recently the death of 5 tigers hit the headlines. All this news left me searching for ways in which I could help this creature. And saving them again is one big fat selfish motive that man has. With the extinction of animals from the face of the earth we are slowing killing the Cycle of life. We are taking off the beads that connect and maintain the balance of nature. The nature that is giving us HUMANS its life.
When I circulated the link for save the tiger initiative to some of my friends and colleague, a person walked up to me and asked me if I believed that by sharing these links or by talking about these things am I going to make any difference to the situation? It did make me think but only for a while, because the next instance I was reading an article about a boy who started a signature campaign on tiger crisis and sent it to the chief minister. The idea was to gather funds to rehabilitate the poacher's tribe. After some probing the CM sent the funds for the conservation projects.
What caught me off guard was the age of the boy. The boy was just 7yrs old studying in class 2. If a 7 yr old can stir such a mass ripple, why cant us? And that's where the answer to that person's question was. Even if we don't want to loose the comfort of our home and office, there are a lot of things we can do. There are a lot of people at the frontline who are fighting the cause by being right at the spot of action. Spare some money and donate to help them. Write and talk about this crisis with every one possible, in the right forums. You never know who might be influenced by your thoughts and might just go all out for this cause. That's your contribution too. Join the NGOs who are working for this cause and find out how you can help. All this can be done online.

Greener the Better
Did you know Singapore has become 10 times far greener than what they were 10 years back!!!.... Today when we are heading, very quickly, towards global warming and deforestation, there is one small COUNTRY not very far off from our own that are going greener by the day.
Isn't that surprising!!! ….. The answer is NO.
When I was planning my trip to Singapore, some people warned me of the high fines that I will (and not 'might') have to pay if I don't follow the rules.
Initially when I landed in that country I thought that probably that's the reason why Singapore is developing with leaps and bounds.
I am sure the government has done their bit of ensuring that every individual follows rules in this country. But it is for each of you to see how every citizen is in love with his nation.
Every one is conscious of the environment around them. Not a foot of free land has been left barren. Areas where they couldn't plant trees, they have planted shrubs and herbs. It is so amazing to see that every small nook and corner, space around the signal, road turns, crossings, road dividers and every possible place has been planted with green and colorful plants.
This is not only beautifying the country but is also contributing in its own small way to the environment.
Singapore has one of the best Rain forests, which the country is so proud off. They are not cutting them off for personal needs. And you don't need to meet ministers to know that. Every man, woman and child of that country would make you feel the pride that they carry.
No one throws any garbage on the roads. A rule?? YES… but now a Habit!!!
Back to our own country - Have you wondered why suddenly this year we had so little rain in the monsoon season and why the summer started in January and why in mid November we need an AC to cool ourselves off… where is winter?
Most of the cities are facing water crunch. Food prices are on the rise. And still we want to turn a cold shoulder towards these pinching issues… We are so much in love with our 'present' that we have turned blind towards our 'Future'.
It not just our government's job to do something and reduce pollution and improve the environment. It is not just their responsibility to fight global warming. But each and every individual should contribute in every possible way to fight the big issues of the future that we have so complacently planted for our ourselves.
The only thing that you need to kick start is LOVE. Love for your country, love for the nature and love for your own future.

Denmark Massacre
The first time I saw this on National television, I literally cried!! It could have been because of the pain I felt for these Dolphins, or simply the way humans have evolved into such demons. It is so hard to believe that some of us have no heart, no sentiments, no feelings that they find it so easy to give shape to such gruesome killing.
The next day I researched this further on Google to find more about this annual event that happens in Denmark in the name of ‘sport’. The irony of the entire incident is that the participants are young boys who kill these dolphins just to prove that they are 'Adults' and 'Mature'. The questions is - Are these ‘men’ of Faroe Island Denmark proving to be adults or are they posing a rude challenge to mankind that nothing and nothing at all is going to stop them from continuing this slaughter.
These Calderon dolphins are so friendly and they love to play with humans. And man taking full advantage of this nature, drives them to the shore using nets and kills them. Death doesn't come instantaneously to these poor animals. They are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hocks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim sound similar to the cry of a new born child. He suffers till it slowly dies in its own blood.
Someone forwarded me this email with these pictures and asked me to sign and forward it further till some association defending animals hear us and try and put an end to this massacre happening year after year.
I did my bit but that was not enough for me.... I wanted more people to know about it…. Some one telling me what to do next. How to reach out and cry for help!!! for these beautiful speechless creatures.
